GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo. – First came beef and then turkey, and now Perky Jerky is introducing jerky fans to its latest protein variety — pork jerky. The new pork product will hit the shelves in June.

“Our core consumers are busy millennials looking for high protein, low carb snacks they can enjoy on the run,” said Denise Sirovatka, chief commercial officer at Perky Jerky. “But they want an alternative to beef and turkey jerky and are seeking globally inspired flavors. Our new line of pork jerky delivers a lean protein with exciting flavors that are right on trend.”

The new product will be available in three flavors: Mountain Maple, Asian Five Spice and Coconut Curry. All varieties are marinated overnight to ensure bold flavor profiles. Each pork jerky flavor is 80 calories or less per serving, 8 grams of protein and has 40 percent less sugar than other pork jerky products on the market. The product is also free of nitrites, preservatives, gluten and has no added MSG.
