Sonic is offering a deal for half-price cheeseburgers to celebrate Unturkey Day.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Before most of the country spends Thanksgiving Day gorging on turkey, Sonic Drive-In is trying to give restaurant patrons a protein alternative. On Nov. 21, Sonic Chief Marketing Officer Lori Abou Habib will be pardoning all turkeys as the chain celebrates Unturkey Day with half-price cheeseburgers all day.

“It is a well-known tradition to pardon a turkey on Thanksgiving, and since you won’t see a traditional turkey dinner on our menu today, our pardon extends to all the turkeys out there,” Abou Habib said. “To give these noble birds a short reprieve before Thanksgiving, consider gobbling up a cheeseburger instead.”

Sonic cheeseburgers are made with American cheese, pickles, onions, lettuce and tomatoes atop a beef patty. The offer is only available on Nov. 21.
