GREELEY, Colo. – Tim Schellpeper, the most recent CEO of Maschhoff Family Foods, a Carlyle, Illinois-based pork production firm, and a former executive with Smithfield Foods, Smithfield, Virginia, has been appointed president of JBS USA’s fed-beef business operations. Schellpeper, a 25-year industry veteran, will be responsible for operations of the JBS processing facilities in Cactus, Texas, Hyrum, Utah, Grand Island, Nebraska, and in Greeley, Colorado.

Schellpeper’s career began in 1987, when he worked at IBP and later worked with Farmland Foods as senior vice president of operations and with Smithfield as president and chief operating officer at Smithfield Packing Co.

The company’s fed-beef business unit employs approximately 11,000 people with a daily processing capacity of 18,000 head. It serves retail and foodservice customers with fresh beef brands that include Swift, 5 Star Reserve and Aspen Ridge.
