The company said in a release that the Duroc-bred, Meyer Natural Pork will now be offered to meet the growing demand for antibiotic-free proteins for its retail and foodservice customers. It is available in primals for custom cutting and in case-ready, retail packaging. Retail cuts include spareribs, pork chops, roasts and tenderloins
“The protein industry has, for the most part, been dominated by beef and poultry, but given consumers’ growing interest in and demand for pork, the time was right for us to add an antibiotic-free pork option for customers,” said Bob Meyer, founder and owner of the company. “We aim to stay on trend with food customer and consumer needs, and adding new products like antibiotic-free pork gives us the ability to be a one-stop shop for quality meats.”
Meyer’s portfolio of products also includes Laura’s Lean Beef, Dakota Grass-Fed Beef, Local Harvest and Meyer Natural Angus.
