LAKE FOREST, Calif. – Del Taco Restaurants Inc. announced John D. Cappasola Jr. will be the next CEO of the Mexican-American quick-service restaurant chain. He succeeds Paul J.B. Murphy, III who plans to resign on July 7 and permanently relocate to Denver, Colorado.

Working side by side with Paul over the past several years has uniquely prepared me for this role and I am confident that our team is going to build upon what we have already accomplished and take Del Taco to new heights.”

Cappasola joined Del Taco in 2008 in a senior leadership role, according to the company. He has served as chief brand officer since February 2011 and president of Del Taco since January 2017. In his previous roles Cappasola led Del Taco’s efforts in brand strategy, operations, marketing, menu development and culinary innovation.
