WASHINGTON – Earlier this week, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) sent a letter to the U.S. Department of Agriculture urging the agency to implement a program that would test "every single batch of beef" destined for the school lunch program.
Ms. Gillibrand is also calling for terminating any school lunch contracts with companies that have three consecutive days or 10 instances a year of meat that tests positive for "contaminants."
