SPRINGDALE, Ark. – Tyson Foods Inc. will be partnering with Bimbo Bakeries USA and Hugg & Hall Equipment Co. to bring assistance to disaster victims and aid workers. The partnership will enhance Tyson’s Meals that Matter disaster relief program.

“We are excited to partner with Tyson Foods through the Meals that Matter disaster relief program and make a difference for those who need it most. When a disaster strikes, we want to make sure those impacted have a reliable meal so they have one less thing to worry about,” said Jonathan Berger, vice president of human relations at Bimbo Bakeries USA.

In 2012, Tyson started it Meals that Matter disaster relief program. The company provided a custom 53-ft. semi-trailer with enough refrigerated space to store up to 20,000 lbs. of product, as well as space for dry storage, for initial disaster response. After filled, the truck can transport supplies to set up feeding sites and support for Tyson Foods cook teams in areas that are in need of disaster relief.

As Tyson’s new partner in the program, Bimbo Bakeries will supply bread, bun and roll products to the Tyson cook teams so that the teams can deliver handheld sandwiches to those in need.

In addition, Hugg & Hall Equipment Co. will provide lighting, power, material handling, as well as heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment as needed during disaster relief deployments.
