The $22 million facility will replace two outdated hatcheries.

SEAFORD, Del. – Officials with Allen Harim LLC announced on Oct. 24 plans to build a hatchery valued at $22 million. The chicken production and processing firm’s new hatchery will be located in Dagsboro, Delaware with a capacity to set 2.5 million eggs per week in the 70,000 sq.-ft. facility.

The new hatchery will be situated on Allen Harim’s 19.84 acre property on Nine Foot Road and will replace two older hatcheries, which are located in Seaford and Dagsboro, with job opportunities offered to employees of those facilities.

“Our ‘No Antibiotic Ever’ policy requires us to provide the healthiest start possible to each and every bird, and this new facility — the most technologically-advanced hatchery on Delmarva — will deliver that,” said Joe Moran, president and CEO.
