Sausage or patties? The restaurant chain lets consumers decide.

NEW ALBANY, Ohio – Bob Evans Restaurants is asking consumers to decide their “side.” The chain developed the 2016 Sausage Selection Election, a fictitious battle for the breakfast plate, which pits sausage patties against links.

Consumers can respond via an online poll at  www.bobevans.com/election, where they can learn more about the “candidates” and receive a special offer of a free side of breakfast sausage at any Bob Evans Restaurant. At the end of the month, the winning sausage will be declared “America’s favorite,” and a state-by-state breakdown mirroring the Electoral College will be revealed.

“Bob Evans loved sausage, both links and patties, and that is part of our company today,” John Fisher, president of Bob Evans Restaurants, said in a news release. “We know that, no matter who wins the Sausage Selection Election, our guests are the real winners because Bob Evans sausage, be it links or patties, is the best quality, tastiest sausage out there.”

Bob Evans Farms, Inc., through its BEF Foods business, is a leading producer and distributor of refrigerated side dishes, pork sausage and a variety of refrigerated and frozen convenience food items under the Bob Evans and Owens brand names.
