bacon cooking in a seasoned pan
Americans are still paying more for bacon at breakfast, according to MooseRoots.

Bacon has developed over the years, but how much has the pricing changed over the decades?

In a recent article from MooseRoots a website that combines historical records of the past, readers can now see the trends of the past in pork and how they have changed throughout time.

MooseRoots used the Consumer Price Index date for "Bacon and Related Products" and the average recorded price of a pound of bacon in the US cities from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. This included the absolute price and the inflation-adjusted prices.

From there readers can click through the slideshow seeing the ups and downs of the bacon market since 1940.
