Los Angeles-based Royal Frozen Food is recalling about 3,821 lbs. of beef and chicken blintzes because milk, a known allergen, was not declared on the product labels, FSIS said. A label review by FSIS personnel uncovered the problem.
The beef and chicken blintzes were produced on various dates before April 16. Products subject to the recall bear the establishment number “Est. 20585 or P-20585” inside the USDA mark of inspection. FSIS said the items were shipped to retail stores and markets in California and Nevada.
Affected products include:
• 20-oz. plastic trays containing ten pieces of “Royal Frozen Food, BLINTZES Blintzes with BEEF” with bar code “6 0723830019 5.”
• 20-oz. plastic trays containing ten pieces of “Royal Frozen Food, BLINTZES Blintzes with CHICKEN” with bar code “6 0723830025 6.”
A second recall came from B&R Meat Processing in Winslow, Ark. The firm is recalling approximately 2,129 lbs. of pork products on concerns of possible staphylococcal enterotoxin contamination, FSIS reported.
While conducting a food safety assessment, an FSIS inspector observed a processing deviation that may have led to staphylococcal enterotoxin contamination, according to the agency. Affected items include cured and uncured pork products made on various dates between August 7, 2014 and April 1, FSIS said. The products bear the establishment number “Est. 46910” inside the USDA mark of inspection. The pork products were shipped to local stores and farmer’s markets in Arkansas.

• 1-lb. cryovac packages of “B & R MEAT PROCESSING CURED HAM PORK SAUSAGE.”
• 1-lb. cryovac packages of “B & R MEAT PROCESSING CURED PORK CANADIAN BACON.”
• 1-lb. cryovac packages of B & R MEAT PROCESSING CURED RATTLESNAKE PORK.”
• 1 to 2-lb. cryovac packages of “B & R MEAT PROCESSING CURED HAM PORK.”
• 0.5 to 1-lb. cryovac packages of “B & R MEAT PROCESSING CURED PORK JOWLS.”
• 1-lb. cryovac packages B & R MEAT PROCESSING CURED AR PORK BACON.”
• 1-lb. cryovac packages of “B & R MEAT PROCESSING UNCURED SMOKED PORK BACON.”
• 0.5 to 1-lb. cryovac packages of “B&R MEAT PROCESSING SMOKED PORK JOWLS.”
• 0.5 to 1-lb. cryovac packages of “B&R MEAT PROCESSING PORK HOCKS.”
