The Canadian Food Inspection Agency said Lady York Foods is recalling San Danielle Mortadella – Regular or Lean sold on Feb. 18 due to possible
Listeria monocytogenescontamination. The recall applies to San Danielle Spicy Mortadella sold from the deli counter, but labeled as San Danielle Mortadella – Regular or Lean, the agency said.
CFIA said the recall was triggered by findings of federal, provincial and local public health authorities who are investigating an ongoing foodborne illness outbreak in Ontario. There have been no confirmed illnesses associated with the mortadella, CFIA noted; however, the investigation may result in the recall of other products. The recalled mortadella is undergoing analysis to determine if it is linked to any illnesses.
Lady York Foods is a family owned specialty foods store in North York, Ontario. Meat, deli and produce are sold at the store.
