LANSING, Mich. – Public health officials in Michigan issued a health alert Aug. 5 warning consumers not to eat a chicken salad product sold at a Sam's Club in Novi, Mich., on concerns the product is contaminated byListeria monocytogenes.

Personnel with the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) discovered the problem during routine product sampling. No illnesses have been linked to the product to date. MDARD has advised consumers to immediately discard the product.


The Chicken Caesar Salad is packaged in an 11 oz. plastic clamshell container labeled “Chicken Caesar Salad” with the name “Daily Chef” on the label with a sell by date of July 31, 2014.
