During his tenure, Kunzler expanded the business into one of the nation’s top 20 leading purveyors of meat products. As sales of Kunzler products outpaced production capacity at the Lancaster plant, Kunzler acquired the Juniata Packing Company in Tyrone, Pa., in 1984. In 1992, he purchased the Meadows Scrapple Company in Duncansville, Pa.

Kunzler attended the Staunton Military Academy in Staunton Va. He served two years in the United States Army before joining Kunzler & Company as a route salesman.
