TYRONE, Pa. – Kunzler and Co. is adding jobs at its Tyrone, Pa., facility to accommodate growth in the company's natural bacon production.

Most recently, the company added 13 employees and has plans to add eight to 10 later this year, according to an Associated Press report. The plant currently employs 175 workers.


The company's all-natural bacon is free from artificial cures and preservatives. Only sea salt and raw sugar are used in production. The company makes about 120,000 lbs. of natural bacon per week in addition to 250,000 lbs. of its traditional bacon.

Kunzler has been in business since 1901. In addition to bacon, the company produces hams, franks, lunch meats and specialty items. Kunzler brand products are sold in supermarkets, delis, convenience stores, schools, theme parks and other venues.
