WILKESBORO, NC – A Dec. 5 confrontation between three workers at a Tyson Foods chicken processing plant resulted in a suspect allegedly stabbing two victims, one of which has died, according to police and media reports. Police responded to a 911 call reporting stabbings at the plant at 5:41 pm. After law enforcement officials arrived at the plant, a suspect was identified and apprehended and was being held on $250,000 bond. The two victims were taken to an area hospital to be treated for multiple stab wounds. One of the victims later died. Circumstances leading up to the incident are being investigated.

“We’re deeply saddened by the loss of one of our team members and the injury of another in an incident at our Wilkesboro plant Monday,” said Worth Sparkman, Tyson spokesman. “We’re fully cooperating with law enforcement as they investigate what happened. We’re also bringing in an additional chaplain to provide support to our other team members in the aftermath of this tragedy.”
