
Permanent menu additions and limited-time items make their debut.
McDonald’s Corp. has renewed its efforts to bring chicken strips permanently to its US menu with the launch of McCrispy Strips. The product, which features 100% white meat, breading and black pepper flavor, previously debuted as Buttermilk Crispy Tenders but was halted in 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers has unveiled the barbecue brisket steakburger. The item features sliced brisket that is pit-smoked for 16 hours, along with two steakburger patties, American cheese, pickles, onion, barbecue sauce and a King's Hawaiian bun.
Zaxbys is leaning into larger-sized applications with the launch of its giant quesadillas. The product contains three Zaxbys signature chicken strips, Cheddar Jack cheese and other toppings encased in a flour tortilla. Varieties include a chicken bacon ranch quesadilla and a chicken fajita quesadilla.
“Our new giant quesadillas are a perfect example of how we can bring a bigger and more craveable twist to an already popular food item,” said Patrick Schwing, chief marketing officer at Zaxbys. “With premium ingredients, our beloved signature sauces, and three of our famous Chicken Fingerz in each quesadilla, we’re serving up a giant quesadilla experience that rivals any out there.”
Taco Cabana has launched the chicken bacon ranch taco ahead of Cinco de Mayo. The limited-time offering includes ingredients like fajita chicken, bacon, pickled jalapeños, lettuce, tomato and ranch.
