
New pizza offerings make a debut.
Pizza maker Vocelli Pizza is entering the filled crust segment with its limited-time stuffed crust pizza. Made with hand-tossed dough mixed with olive oil, the stuffed crust comes filled with mozzarella cheese.
Corner Bakery Cafe is adding to its panini product lineup with the green chile chicken panini. The pressed sandwich features all-white meat chicken, hatch green chilis, tomato, ranch slaw and cheddar cheese on sourdough bread.
Fast-casual Mexican chain Fuzzy’s Taco Shop has expanded its menu with three breakfast offerings. The limited-time additions include the amigas taco, with scrambled eggs, chorizo, shredded cheese, tortilla strips, pico de gallo and sliced avocados; the big bacon and chorizo taco, with scrambled eggs, bacon, chorizo, shredded cheese and pico de gallo; and the sunrise mimosa, a frozen margarita that is mixed with mango puree, grenadine and Smirnoff-brand vanilla vodka that comes topped with a dunked bottle of sparkline wine.
“Who says breakfast is just for mornings?” said Patrick Kirk, president and chief marketing officer of Fuzzy’s Taco Shop. “At Fuzzy’s, breakfast is an all-day adventure, and we’re bringing even more flavor to the table with these fun and indulgent new offerings.”
Casey’s has debuted Italian deli pizza, marking the company’s latest limited-time pizza innovation. The pizza features deli salami, chopped bacon, banana peppers, mozzarella cheese, Casey’s Parmesan cheese blend and marinara sauce, and the item comes in traditional and thin crust varieties.
The company also has launched Italian deli-inspired sliders, which combine King’s Hawaiian rolls with deli meats, provolone cheese, Parmesan and banana peppers.
Baja Fresh has introduced three limited-time offerings aimed at budget conscious consumers. The meals are each under $10 and are served with rice, tortilla chips, salsa and either black or pinto beans. Options include the street taco trio, three soft corn tortillas filled with an onion and cilantro mix, salsa and grilled chicken, steak or carnitas; the poco fuego burrito, grilled chicken or carnitas wrapped in a flour tortilla with melted jack cheese, guacamole, salsa, sour cream, pico de gallo, sliced jalapeños, black beans and lettuce; and the dos enchiladas rojas, two corn tortilla enchiladas with grilled chicken, jack cheese, red chile sauce, sour cream and cilantro.
“Baja Fresh is all about providing guests with high-quality, satisfying and affordable meal options,” said Logan Reves, vice president of restaurant operations at Baja Fresh.
The category is seeing launches focused on health and wellness, convenience and clean label.
