SPRINGDALE, Ark. – Officials with Tyson Foods Inc. confirmed that approximately 150 workers at the company’s Van Buren, Arkansas poultry processing plant were notified on March 7 that they would be part of a temporary layoff. According to Worth Sparkman, a Tyson spokesman, the layoff is the result of changes in production needs and will be effective at the end of March.

The company is offering employment opportunities to eligible workers at its facilities in northwest Arkansas and in the River Valley area. The Van Buren plant currently employs approximately 1,100 people.
