WASHINGTON – Turkey eggs in incubators slipped 1 percent on Dec. 1 to 26.4 million, the US Department of Agriculture's National Agricultural Statistics Service reported. Eggs in incubators increased 2 percent from the Nov. 1 total of 25.9 million eggs.

Poults hatched during November fell 10 percent compared to a year ago, according to NASS. Turkey poults hatched during November totaled 21.2 million. Poults hatched declined 7 percent from the October 2013 total of 22.9 million poults, NASS reported.


Turkey poults placed during November dropped 14 percent from the same period in 2012 to 19.9 million net poults placed. Net placements retreated 5 percent from the October 2013 total of 20.9 million, according to NASS.
