OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — NPC International Inc. has completed an acquisition deal for 53 Wendy’s restaurants and one additional location currently under development, for $30.4 million. NPC plans to renovate some of the acquired restaurants to reflect the brand’s newest restaurant design. The eateries are located in the Salt Lake City, Utah market and will be owned and operated by NPC Quality Burgers Inc., NPC's subsidiary.

Wendy’s announced this past month, plans to sell approximately 425 restaurants by the second quarter of 2014. NPC International Inc. calls itself the world’s largest Pizza Hut franchisee and currently operates 1,252 Pizza Hut restaurants and delivery units in 28 states and 90 Wendy’s units in three states.
