WASHINGTON – Cross-contamination may have compromised the wholesomeness of approximately 22,800 lbs. of ham, chicken and beef salad products produced by Reser's Fine Foods, the US Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service reported.

The Topeka, Kan.-based food company recalled the products after microbiological testing by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. A traceback investigation and follow-up testing by the Food and Drug Administration found potential cross-contamination of the meat salads with
Listeria monocytogenesfrom product contact surfaces. There have been no reports of illnesses made in connection to the recalled products.

Products regulated by FSIS bear the establishment number “EST. 13520” or “P-13520” inside the USDA mark of inspection. Reser's distributed the meat salads to retailers and distributors in Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
