WASHINGTON – Milwaukee, Wis.-based Garden Fresh Foods recalled approximately 19,054 lbs. of ready-to-eat chicken and ham salads on concerns the products may be contaminated withListeria monocytogenes, the US Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service reported Sept. 25. The items include "Market Pantry" and "Archer Farms" brand products sold at Target stores.


Microbiological testing by the Food and Drug Administration uncovered the problem, the agency said. FDA also regulates the products and has issued a similar recall from Garden Fresh Foods. There have been no reports of illness due to consumption of the products, FSIS said.

Garden Fresh Foods is a national supplier and distributor of ready-to-eat products to grocery chains, restaurants, health care facilities and institutions, according to the company’s website. The company operates a 170,000-sq.-ft. facility and employs more than 100 people.

Products regulated by FSIS bear the establishment number “EST. 17256” or “Est. P-17256” inside the USDA mark of inspection and include:

• D'Amico and Sons Chicken Salad with Rosemary
• D'Amico and Sons Chicken & Dried Cherry Pasta

• D'Amico and Sons Ranch Pasta Salad with Chicken, Spinach & Bacon
• Finest Traditions Ham Salad Spread
• Garden Fresh Ham Salad with Sweet Relish
• Weis Ham Salad
