SÃO PAULO, Brazil – Wesley Batista Filho was named CEO of JBS Paraguay, JBS S.A. announced. He will continue with his current responsibilities as CEO of JBS Uruguay. Filho will continue reporting to Miguel Gularte, president of JBS Mercosul.

He succeeds Alba Pettegill and Martin Bordaberry who jointly ran the JBS business in Paraguay. Pettegill and Bordaberry are retiring after long careers with JBS, the company said.


The Mercosul unit includes beef production in Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay. The business also produces poultry, pork, leather and other products in Brazil. JBS has two processing facilities in Paraguay and another facility in Uruguay.
