ORLANDO, FLA. — Meat and poultry executives have been hearing for years that the need for more convenience demanded by customers and consumers alike continues driving the industry. Here’s more proof backing this statement: Ruth’s Chris Steak House has launched a new mobile reservation web site for customers seeking dining information and reservations on-the-go.

"We appreciate that our guests lead an active lifestyle," said Elizabeth Solar, director of marketing for Ruth’s Chris Steak House. "This enhanced mobile capability will accommodate our on-the-go guests, making it easier to make a reservation anywhere, anytime from their mobile device."

The web site is designed specifically for portable devices such as the iPhone and Blackberry and will complement Ruth’s Chris’ existing internet reservation system. The mobile site can be viewed via iPhone, iPod Touch and Blackberry at

www.ruthschris.com.

As iPhone and Blackberry are slightly different functionally, the site is customized to suit the unique characteristics of each device. Users can make and cancel online reservations from the iPhone, iPod Touch or Blackberry; browse through a database-driven location directory featuring Google Maps, phone and e-mail integration; view the Ruth's Chris menu and pictures of menu items; or view and share private dining sample menu PDFs.

Ruth Fertel founded Ruth's Chris Steak House, a part of Ruth's Hospitality Group Inc., in New Orleans in 1965. It specializes in U.S.D.A. Prime grade steaks. As for which menu item is most ordered at Ruth’s Chris, a spokesperson told MEATPOULTRY.com "the filet is the most-popular selling meat item."
