WASHINGTON – Turkey eggs in incubators on July 1, 2013, declined 9 percent to 27 million, the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service reported. Eggs in incubators gained 2 percent from the June 1, 2013, total of 26.5 million eggs.

Turkey poults hatched during June fell 15 percent to 21.2 million compared to a year ago, according to NASS. Poults hatched were down 4 percent from the May total of 22.1 million poults.


Poults placed during June declined 16 percent 21 million compared to the same period a year ago, NASS reported. Net placements eased 3 percent from the May total of 21.7 million.
