LEESBURG, Ind. – Maple Leaf Farms is transitioning to new vacuum skin packaging for all of its retail raw duck breast and duck leg products, the company announced July 1.

The company plans a nationwide rollout starting in July that will include traditional grocery stores, specialty retailers and meat markets. Maple Leaf Farms also will support the new packaging with $2.00 off instant coupons to drive consumer purchases.

“This packaging change has been the catalyst for additional product enhancement,” said Cindy Turk, director of duck marketing for Maple Leaf Farms.

The company's vacuum-skin packed duck breast is available plain or in roasted garlic and honey orange marinades. The products are available fresh or frozen, in 7.5 oz. duck breast packages with nine packages per case. Retailers can access custom display trays, recipe booklets, vinyl clings and shelf danglers to attract and influence consumer purchases. The products can be displayed upright in customized trays or on a pegboard for multiple display possibilities.

“Duck is gaining more attention as high-profile chefs are showcasing duck and consumers are learning that duck is a healthy protein option,” Turk said. “We believe the new retail packaging and product enhancements will expose more consumers to discover the benefits of duck.”

Maple Leaf Farms is a leading producer of duck products, supplying global retail and foodservice markets with value-added foods.
