DENVER – During the recently held American Meat Institute Foundation annual Conference on Worker Safety, Health, Human Resources and the Environment, held in Denver, more than 140 meat and poultry plants were recognized for outstanding workplace safety.

This program’s ongoing success is a testament to industry’s strong dedication to workplace safety, said J. Patrick Boyle, A.M.I. president and chief executive. "We applaud the efforts of these plants to protect their workers and for their continued commitment to further progress," he added.

The Award of Honor, the highest-ranking award, was given to 42 plants, 47 received the Award of Merit, 30 plants received the Award of Commendation and 22 received a Certificate of Recognition.
