Wendy's launches the Pretzel Bacon Cheeseburger

Wendy’s announced its much-anticipated Pretzel Bacon Cheeseburger will be available at locations nationwide by July 4. The burger, which received high marks in consumer tests, outperformed other promotional hamburgers in Wendy’s recent history.

"Wendy's knows food trends. We tapped into consumers' love of pretzels, and transformed the iconic snack into an artisan-crafted cheeseburger," said Craig Bahner, Wendy's chief marketing officer. "We constantly search for foods that customers crave, and we've created the ultimate mash-up of three American loves – pretzels, bacon and cheeseburgers – to deliver new standards of quality and taste."

 

'Tis the summer season

P.F. Chang’s recently launched its new Summer Seasonal Menu. The new food offerings mark the largest culinary innovation to date in the restaurant’s 20-year history. Menu items include Korean BBQ Chicken Stir-Fry and Peking Duck Summer Rolls.

Bacon bliss

Monogram Food Solutions is offering Maple Glazed Bacon Jerky with 45 percent less fat than pan-fried bacon. Sweet Maple Glazed Bacon Jerky is now available under Trail’s Best, Wild Bill’s, Johnsonville and Bass Pro Uncle Buck’s brands in re-sealable pouches.

 

Classic conversion

Sonic's new Asiago Caesar Chicken Club sandwich is a new take on the classic club sandwich using premium ingredients and new flavors like Asiago cheese and Caesar dressing.

Jack In The Box goes 'Big'

Among four new products unveiled for the summer from Jack In The Box: Jack’s Big Stack features two jumbo beef patties, American cheese, pickles and onion rings topped with mustard and a mayo onion sauce and served on toasted Sourdough bread. The Big Waffle Stack includes two eggs, country-grilled sausage, ham, American cheese and hickory-smoked bacon stacked between two lightly sweetened, toasted maple waffles.


Atkins beefs up line of frozen meals

Atkins Nutritionals, Inc. added three new entrees to its current line of frozen meals. New meals launching June 2013 include Sesame Chicken Stir-Fry, Chicken Marsala and Italian-Style Pasta Bake with custom Italian sausage and premium beef.
