BOONEVILLE, Miss. – Plumrose USA, a subsidiary of Danish Crown, laid off 100 employees at its Booneville, Miss., sliced deli meat plant, the Associated Press reported. The plant now has 320 workers.

A company official said there are no plans to close the facility. Rather, the company didn't need as many workers at the plant, according to AP.


The company produces premium bacon and deli meat products under the Plumrose, Dak and Danola brands. Plumrose has a bacon production facility in Elkhart, Ind., a barbecue products and ribs facility in Swanton, Vt., and deli meats and bacon production plants in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Company headquarters are in Downers Grove, Ill.
