DAVIS, Calif. – Rick Stott, executive vice president of Business Development at Agri Beef, was named CEO of Superior Farms Lamb.

Stott has worked in various executive posts for Boise, Idaho-based Agri Beef for more than 19 years. He was president of Snake River Farms, a subsidiary of Agri Beef. He also was Agri Beef vice president, treasurer and corporate controller. He has been a member of the Superior Farms board of directors since 2011.


“We’re thrilled to bring someone of Rick’s caliber to our organization and the American sheep industry as a whole,” said Jim Fletcher, chairman of the board for Superior Farms and its’ parent company Transhumance. “His extensive experience and success with Agri Beef, as well as his passion for agriculture, demonstrates that he was the right fit for Superior Farms. We see many opportunities for success with this new partnership.”

At Agri Beef, Stott oversaw acquisitions, information technology strategy, marketing, and regulatory and public policy affairs. He also led a team that launched a new company to market protein directly to consumers at TheDoubleRRanch.com.

Stott is a fifth-generation cattleman and he has Bachelors and Masters degrees in accounting from Brigham Young Univ. Currently he is serving as a board member on the Univ. of Idaho Agriculture Dean’s Advisory Board and on several other industry boards. He is a member of several professional and community organizations including; The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, Idaho, Washington, Montana and Kansas Cattlemen’s Associations.

“During the last 19 years I have had the privilege of working closely with great people,” Stott said. “Agri Beef has grown from a Northwest feeder to a leader in the beef industry and I feel privileged to be a part of that success.

“However, I’m very excited to join Superior Farms and the lamb industry,” he added. “Through my involvement as a director, I’ve had the opportunity to become familiar with the company, the industry and its employee-owners. It will be an exciting and challenging opportunity.”

Superior Farms is North America’s largest processor and marketer of lamb for retail and foodservice markets.
