WASHINGTON – The applicability date of Federal Acquisition Regulatory Case 2007-013, Employment Eligibility Verification, is being extended to June 30, 2009, by the Department of Defense, General Services Administration and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. The amendment was expected to be published in the Federal Register on April 17, according to the American Meat Institute.

Requiring federal subcontractors of any tier to use the Department of Homeland Security’s E-Verify system to check employees’ work authorization, the rule was scheduled to go into effect Jan. 15, 2009, but has been delayed to allow time for lawmakers to evaluate it more thoroughly.
