QUEENSLAND, Australia – The United Kingdom had a lamb flatbread sandwich. Switzerland got the “McZuri”, a veal burger. Now, Australia will get a Serious Lamb Burger, according to news reports.

The fast-food chain will launch the new lamb burger Aug. 14 in Queensland, according to Burger Business. The new burger will be served on a wheatgerm bun with toppings such as red onions, a cooked egg, a slice of beetroot and aioli.

McDonald’s is also releasing the Serious Lamb Taster, a small wrap with half a lamb patty that is similar to the company’s Angus Snack Wraps, according to Burger Business. The Serious Lamb Burger is part of McDonald’s ‘locavore’ marketing strategy, which promotes local products and highlights the company’s producers and supplier relationships.
