WICHITA, Kan. – Creekstone Farms Premium Beef, owner and operator of an Arkansas City, Kan., processing plant, settled a class-action lawsuit through mediation, according to the Wichita Eagle. Details of the settlement were not revealed.

A federal lawsuit was filed against the company on behalf of 700 workers. The suit claimed employees were improperly paid for time spent donning and doffing protective gear. The workers filed the lawsuit on April 6. The plaintiffs were seeking an unspecified amount for uncompensated services and time plus legal costs. The case was granted class-action status in February.

Creekstone insisted the company had paid employees for all time they have worked — including overtime.
