WASHINGTON – The US Department of Agriculture is accepting nominations for the National Advisory Committee on Meat and Poultry Inspection (NACMPI). The deadline for applications is June 20.

The committee considers food-safety concerns and advises the Secretary of Agriculture regarding federal and state inspection program activities, USDA said. The advisory committee also contributes to the agency’s regulatory policy development. USDA's Under Secretary for Food Safety considers the committee’s recommendations which are later reviewed by the Secretary of Agriculture.
