AUSTIN, Texas – A Domino’s Pizza customer has initiated a petition urging the pizza chain to stop buying pork from suppliers that use gestation crates.

Rina Khadivi said she launched the petition on Change.org after seeing undercover video footage produced by the Humane Society of the United States.

More than 115,000 people have signed the petition, according to Change.org. The petition comes on the heels of Denny’s recent announcement that it will require suppliers to create and implement plans to phase out gestation crates. Other food companies taking similar action include Burger King, McDonald’s, and Compass Group and Bon Appetit Management Company both large foodservice providers. Suppliers that have announced they will end use of gestation crates include Smithfield Foods, Hormel Foods and Cargill.
