AMES, Iowa – Iowa State Univ. will ask the Iowa Board of Regents to name a proposed agriculture building after pork producers Jeff and Deb Hansen, the founders of Iowa Select Farms, according to the Des Moines Register.

The couple has pledged $2 million toward the $7 million Agriculture Student Learning Center's construction. The project will include a 1,000-seat arena for livestock competitions, training sessions and horse and dog shows. Four classrooms are also planned for the building.

Iowa Select Farms is the state's second-largest pork producer.
