SPRINGDALE, Ark. – Tyson Foods' corporate headquarters is now home to the new Founder's Room, a museum-like exhibit that chronicles Tyson's evolution from a home-based business to one of the world's largest meat companies.

The exhibit encompasses 77 years of company history and includes more than 300 photos and other memorabilia. In the ‘Big Red’ Theater, visitors can view video footage of Tyson’s early leaders, including Don Tyson, Leland Tollett and Buddy Wray. ‘Big Red’ was a rooster caricature that served as the company’s first mascot.

The exhibit also pays tribute to the role of the network of producers and to past and current employees of the company. The project involved a small design company named Circa, operated by Todd and Tracy Johnson, as well as a committee of Tyson associates led by Archie Schaffer III and Heather Chilson.

The 1,500 square foot Founder’s Room was developed at the request of the late Don Tyson. He wanted a space with easy access for employees and guests that would provide a look at the company’s history and honor its founder, John W. Tyson. Plans to develop the new Founder’s Room began in the fall of 2010.

The Founder's Room is open to the public during regular business hours.
