AUSTIN, Minn. – Hormel Foods announced a partnership with Olympian and health advocate Dominique Dawes on the company’s Raising Little Champions campaign. The campaign will feature Dawes and the Hormel Natural Choice product line. Hormel Natural Choice includes sandwich meat, chicken and smoked sausage products without preservatives.

As part of the campaign, Dawes will participate in a public event, social media initiatives and a media tour. She will give nutrition and fitness tips, as well as motivational techniques to help children reach their potential.

“Collaborating with Dawes was a logical next step for growing our brand,” said Jason Baskin, product manager of Hormel Natural Choice products. “As an Olympian and co-chair of the President’s Council on Fitness, she is well versed on the importance of helping kids learn about exercise and nutritious eating.”

Dawes was a top Olympic gymnast who competed and medaled in three consecutive Olympic Games and is the only African-American gymnast to win an Olympic gold medal. At the 1996 Atlanta Games, she became the first female African-American gymnast to win an individual medal, winning bronze with her floor exercise performance.
