REYNOLDSBURG, Ohio – After citing Olde Strasburg Meats for issues relating to inspection compliance, labeling issues, comingling ground beef and improperly wholesaling products, the Ohio Department of Agriculture announced it had suspended the processing license at the Strasburg-based company on Feb. 9.

The suspension prohibits the company from processing or selling meat and state agriculture officials are working to identify product that is in the production supply, according to a statement issued by the ODA.
The ODA press release said Olde Strasburg Meats, formerly known as Valley Farm Meats, was cited numerous times since January 2010 for the issues and notes it has issued four food recalls since August 2009.

ODA urged customers of Olde Strasburg Meats to contact the department’s Division of Meat Inspection to arrange future processing of their products.
