AUSTIN, MINN. — Hormel Foods has announced a new promotion that will provide military personnel with a free lunch of Hormel Compleats microwave meals to honor the dedicated men and women who serve the United States.

More than 100,000 Hormel Compleats meals will be given away at 180 military commissaries throughout the country. The free-lunch event is taking place at their local commissary April 1 through May 15. During the event, servicemen and women or their families can redeem a coupon for a free Hormel Compleats meal. Shelf-talkers, bag-stuffers and in-store signage will promote the program at each local commissary.

Hormel Compleats contain quality chicken, beef or turkey as well as vegetables and/or grains, such as pasta, potatoes or rice, the company said. The shelf-stable full meals, which do not require refrigeration and heat in 90 seconds, are available in 23 varieties including Chicken & Dumplings, Beef Steak Tips and Spaghetti with Meat Sauce.
