TROUTMAN, NC – Michael Popowycz and Kevin Phillips have been appointed vice chairman/chief financial officer and president/chief operating officer, respectively, of Case Foods Inc., effective immediately.

Phillips, who has been promoted from vice president of sales and marketing, succeeds David Van Hoose, who is retiring from the company. Phillips joined Case Foods in 1999 and has also served as sales manager, food service sales manager and director of marketing. Before joining Case Foods, Phillips spent three years with Gold Kist in poultry processing and sales management positions.

Popowycz, who was most recently chief financial officer, a position he has held since 1992, joined Case Foods in 1987 and has also served as corporate controller and corporate treasurer. Popowycz has also served on the company’s board of directors since 2005. Prior to joining Case Foods, Popowycz spent two years with Bell Atlantic Corporation and seven years with Perdue Farms Inc. in various accounting and tax positions.

Case Foods is an integrated poultry processor engaged in the production, processing, marketing and distribution of fresh and frozen poultry products along with producing poultry breeding stock.
