ATTLEBORO, Mass. –New England’s leading provider of prepared fresh/sold frozen poultry pies and fresh deli and sandwich salads, Willow Tree Farms, has announced that Harris Teeter and Sweetbay Supermarkets have agreed to carry its premium chicken pies to 316 stores in eight South Atlantic states. This represents this processor’s first entry into the South Atlantic region. Its products are currently sold in more than 1,500 locations in 14 states.

Willow Tree Premium Chicken Pies are now available in the frozen foods section of 210 Harris Teeter stores in Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and the District of Columbia, plus in 106 Sweetbay Supermarkets along Florida’s western coast.

“We’re excited to be expanding into the Southern Atlantic states,”” said Walter Cekala, president of Willow Tree. “Willow Tree products have never been available south of New Jersey before. We expect Harris Teeter and Sweetbay to be very strong retail partners for us.”

Sweetbay will carry all three varieties of Willow Tree Premium Chicken Pies—Original Premium Chicken Pie, Premium Chicken Pie with Classic Vegetables and Premium Chicken Pie with Red Bliss Potatoes—in the three-serving, 26 oz. size. Harris Teeter will offer the Original Premium Chicken Pie and the Premium Chicken Pie with Classic Vegetables in the three-serving, 26 oz. size. The average retail price for these products is $6.49.

Willow Tree executives credit the company’s recently achieved certification from the Safe Quality Foods (SQF) Program as an important part of its plan to expand geographically.
