ST. LOUIS – In order to settle a lawsuit filed by the state of Missouri over allegations it sold products labeled as "ground beef" containing cattle hearts, John's Butcher Shoppe, a St. Louis-area business, has agreed to pay $50,000. The shop also agreed to submit to unannounced inspections by the Missouri Department of Agriculture, according to The Associated Press.

The settlement includes company stores in Overland and Festus, plus other businesses operated by the family that owns the shops. Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster filed suit in 2011.
