WASHINGTON, Jan. 30, 2009 – Approximately 676,560 pounds of frozen chili beef products is being recalled by Houston-based Windsor Quality Food Co. Ltd., doing business as Windsor Foods, Tulsa, Okla., after consumers reported finding pebbles and stones in the products. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service, the recall was issued because the company believes the product, which was produced between Nov. 6, 2008, and Jan. 13, 2009, may contain foreign materials from an ingredient source. The products were distributed to foodservice and retail establishments in the U.S.

The company received 16 reports of consumers finding small pebbles or stones in the product, including four reports of injury.
