OAKLAND, Calif. and CHICAGO – As part of an initiative that began about eight months ago, members of the National Meat Association (NMA) and more recently, members of the North American Meat Processors Association (NAMP) voted to form a new trade association together. NMA members voted unanimously to join forces with NAMP to create the new association at a meeting on Dec. 21, 2011 while NAMP members voted on the initiative this past week.

The next steps include the due diligence by both organizations, followed by the approval of the consolidation agreement by the NMA Executive Committee and the NAMP Board of Directors.
