ATLANTA – Arby's Restaurant Group, Inc. announced on Jan. 4 that George Condos will be the company's chief operating officer.

“George’s proven success in the restaurant industry, including his expertise in franchising, makes him ideal to join the Arby’s leadership team," said Hala Moddelmog, president of Arby’s Restaurant Group. "His skill set and experience will add tremendous value to what is needed to move Arby’s forward.”

Condos, 56, began working with the company in November. He has more than 30 years of experience in the restaurant industry. He was vice president of Marketing, Development and Operations for Dunkin' Brands. He was also senior vice president and Brand Officer of Dunkin' Donuts until 2006. Condos' other executive positions include chief executive officer for Friendly's Ice Cream. In 2010, he was the interim CEO for Bar Louie Restaurants.

Condos earned his Bachelor’s of Science in business administration from the University of Vermont. He is a former member of the US Air Force Chief of Staff’s Civic Leaders Council and is a licensed Merchant Marine Captain.

“I’m very excited to join Arby’s," Condos said. "The brand’s potential, combined with new ownership from Roark Capital Group, create the right opportunity for me to contribute to the future success of the brand.

"I look forward to working with our franchisees and company operations teams to create our strategic plan, develop and execute an operationally efficient menu and focus on the speed, accuracy and quality of our operations,” he added.

In July 2011, Roark Capital Group, an Atlanta-based buyout firm, bought roughly 82 percent of Arby’s from Wendy’s in a deal valued at $430 million.
