WATERLOO, Iowa – Slaughtering operations at Tyson Foods’ Waterloo, Iowa pork processing plant was temporarily suspended for several hours on the morning of Sept. 22 due to US Department of Agriculture concerns about an unspecified “procedural” issue.

“These concerns were addressed by the company and slaughter operations have resumed,” Tyson spokesman Gary Mickelson told MEATPOULTRY.com. “The processing portion of the plant, which employs the largest number of people, was not affected,” he added.
