LONDON, Ontario – Cargill Value Added Meats Canada in London is one of the 20 recipients of the Canada Awards for Excellence from Excellence Canada (formerly National Quality Institute). It is being recognized for outstanding achievements in quality, customer service and a healthy work place.

“Ultimately, quality and food safety come down to our people,” said Hans Kabat, managing director, Cargill Value Added Meats Canada. “At Cargill, we maintain a dedicated leadership group, which provides direction in food safety, animal health and quality assurance. Each of our 1,100 stakeholders has an important role in providing great quality products to Canadian consumers every day.”

Cargill is being awarded the Gold Trophy Award in the Quality Award (private sector) category. The award is based on the Canadian Framework for Excellence, which is used by numerous organizations as a management model for continuous improvement and operational practices. To receive the Gold Trophy, Cargill had to fully meet Excellence Canada’s Quality Criteria, with documented overall achievements and results. The results demonstrated that Cargill’s greatest strength areas are customer relations, supplier relations and leadership.
