DENVER – Quiznos has announced a new master franchise agreement to bring Quiznos to northern and western India. The agreement with New Delhi-based Sub One Hospitality Services complements Quiznos’ recently announced entry into Southern India, where last week the company opened its largest international location.

Quiznos’ expansion in India will cover the country’s commercial center of New Delhi and the entertainment hub of Bollywood.

“When you combine that with the diverse and cosmopolitan population in northern and western India’s major cities, a partner with significant expertise in the local market, Quiznos’ strategy for international growth and localization, and our unparalleled menu of distinctive, recipe-driven flavors, it creates a powerful recipe for success,” said Lee Vala, international chief development officer, Quiznos.

Sub One Hospitality Services has a strong background in commercial real estate, and a well-established and dedicated supply chain. Employing more than 1,000 people, the company also manages many independent food courts in India. Sub One Hospitality Services also manages and runs more than 52 restaurants throughout 14 cities in India, and is the master franchisee holder for prominent brands in the quick-service restaurant, fine dining, casual dining and café markets.

India’s foodservice sector is currently undergoing a rapid transformation, driven by shifting national demographics and an expanding economic base. In northern and western India, a young and culturally diverse population is emerging with improved standards of education, jobs in the information technology, mobile, services and manufacturing sectors and an affinity for international brands, the company said. Sub One Hospitality Services and Quiznos identified a variety of restaurant locations in corporate hubs and shopping malls, as well as near leading schools and colleges.

“Northern and western India is fast becoming a ‘foodie’ market,” said Himan Juneja, CEO of Sub One Hospitality Services. “More and more people are eating meals outside of the home, and they are increasingly seeking new places and tastes to try.”

Menus in northern and western India will feature items unique to that market, reflecting the rich mix of cultures found there. Local customization will include new custom sauces and dressings reflecting the flavors of traditional Indian cuisine, Indian grains incorporated into the bread and a broader variety of vegetarian selections. The locations in India will also offer coffee and yogurt to round out the menu and provide a complete dining experience typical of local customer preferences.
